Gloucestershire Health and Care Trust Seasons Greeting Card - December 2022 My local NHS Trust ran a competition for service users to design a Seasons Greeting Card. I chose to make the main design relate back to their values and colours, hence the baubles with the values inside.
The design was chosen as the Christmas e-card for 2022. Click here to see the Tweet announcing the winner.
Backtrack 2022 Poster - September 2022 After previously winning the 2020 Backtrack competition, I was alerted to the fact the competition had come back for a second year. This time rather than a video they wanted a graphic that could be shared on social media.
I came up with this concept and it ended up being chosen as a runner-up to the competition.
Teens in Crisis+ Christmas Card Design - December 2021 Teens in Crisis+ ran a Christmas card competition to design a card to put on their e-card system. I had been raising money for the charity over the past few years and thought this would be another way of donating to them - by donating my design.
The design was picked as one of Teens in Crisis' Christmas e-cards for 2021. Click here to read more about the design process.
Dartmoor Line Logo - May 2021 Great Western Railway ran a competition to design the logo for the newly opening 'Dartmoor Line' in Devon.
I entered this logo with reasoning as to why I chose to design it the way I did (click here to view the reasoning in a PDF format). Unfortunately, it didn't win, however, it was a great experience.
Backtrack Anti-Trespassing Video - September 2020 Backtrack is an organisation which was set up to get young people involved to promote the dangers of the railways - mainly trespassing. My video entry, which shows the dangers of trespassing from the train driver’s perspective won the ‘Best Film’ category.
Network Rail ‘World Without Women’ Poster - July 2020 Network Rail ran a competition to promote the work of female engineers and all the amazing things they have achieved. They asked for a poster displaying your choice of a female engineer and what they did to make the world a better place.
I won the 12-14 category with my poster that showcased the engineer Olive Dennis’ life. The poster should have been displayed at Network Rail stations nationwide. I also had a video call with a Network Rail Female Engineer Role Model to discuss the engineering aspect of Network Rail.
#CuddleCards Competition - June 2020 Women in Rail Scotland ran a competition during lockdown to design a postcard which you would like to send to a loved one. Anyone could enter and the prize was to have a number of the postcards professionally printed that you could send to family/friends.
Unfortunately I didn’t win, but it was a good experience.
Great Western Railway Design a Train - May 2020 Great Western Railway ran a competition on social media to design a train to thank the Coronavirus keyworkers. I part-won GWR's train design competition, and my words "The Nation Says Thank You" were used on a train.
Messages of Hope at Lodnon Euston Station - April 2020 Network Rail ran a competition where anybody could design a poster to be displayed at the entrance to Euston Station. They wanted the artwork to bring positive emotion to the keyworkers travelling through the station.
The design was chosen as one of the runners-up and displayed at the station. Click here to see the design on the wall at the station.
